The Curvaceous TAP Forum 2008

TAP Forum 2008 will be held in the BellHouse Hotel, Beaconsfield on March 11.  There will be a free CVE/CRSV Class on March 10th, also at the Bellhouse, and a CPM Workshop on the 12th at our new offices in Gerrards Cross.

All these events are a part of your TAP subscription and are available only to TAP subscribers, so if your membership is due for renewal please call us now.

In a nutshell

There is a lot to talk about in this years Forum. CVE 2.4 has been well received and quickly earned a reputation amongst you for being much more stable, easier to install and with a shorter learning curve for new and occasional users. The closed-loop version of CPM above the existing PID controls has been compared with a leading Model Based Controller using a dynamic simulation of an Offshore Oil/Gas/Water Separation plant. CPM with PID settled out the process faster following a disturbance and found a better optimum without maths and without requiring identification experiments so offer a much cheaper and more widely applicable alternative both to implement and maintain. Two multi-phase batch processes were modelled with CPM last year and a control-room implementation of one of them has already started. A new version of CRSV with emphasis on the Design Space/Control Space concepts of the FDAs’ Quality by Design initiative is under development with substantially increased functionality compared to the existing version. We will feature all the above achievements at TAP 2008.

Tutorials and workshops

The CVE class on 10th March is for beginners, intermediates or advanced students. Bring your own data (and laptop with CVE) and we will try and help you achieve some useful results. We will also cover the new CRSV and Quality by Design.

The forum will be followed on Wednesday 12th March by a CPM Workshop where we will have experts available to go as deeply into the new CPM developments.

Hospitality

A special accommodation package has been developed with the Bellhouse Hotel which includes the cost of dinner on March 10 in their standard £120 room rate. Please call the hotel directly for reservations, and ask for the ‘special Curvaceous Software deal’. The number of rooms is limited so early booking is highly advisable.

The Bellhouse Hotel (www.bellhousehotel.co.uk) is situated on the A40 between Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield and about 2 miles from each. Access is easy for those with cars from J2 of the M40 but if you are without a car you would be best advised to stay in the Bellhouse Hotel. London Heathrow airport is about 15 miles away, Luton, Gatwick and Stansted Airports are respectively 30, 50 and 60 miles away and would require you to take a train into London and a second train out again (from Marylebone) to Gerrards Cross. We will be happy to help you with reservations for Gerrards Cross taxis to meet you at Heathrow.

We look forward to joining you for dinner on the 10th March at the Bellhouse and are pleased to invite you for an informal after-dinner reception to get to know each other before the forum proper.

Invitations

The number of delegates has increased rapidly over the last years, so please apply for your invitation now. Initially we will limit acceptances to two per company as in past years, but we have never failed to fit in all who wished to attend so don’t hesitate to ask for more invitations.  Several customers have already agreed to speak about their experiences but there is room in the agenda for more so don’t hold back on volunteering to talk for 10 – 20 minutes about your applications and successes with Geometric Process Control Technology.

Register your interest and reserve your place NOW.

For your invitation, please call us on +44 (0) 01753 893090 or send an email to rahul_gaikwad@curvaceous.com.
