Curvaceous gets into the Final of BCS IT Industry Awards

Curvaceous Software Ltd. has been selected as a Finalist in the British Computer Society (BCS) IT Industry Awards 2008 - Project Excellence. Curvaceous’s products based on the novel Geometric Process Control (GPC) technology offer process improvements in a range of different ways. GPC significantly simplifies the management, sharing, visualisation and information-extraction from large amounts of experimental and operational data providing solutions to problems that have been insoluble for so long that people believed they had no solution. This technology is already in use by over 120 blue-chip companies in Europe and North America, who find its innovative methods are delivering a steady stream of process efficiency improvements.

The innovative software products have been recognized by prestigious professional awards on numerous occasions. The GPC technology has previously won awards from the European Process Safety Centre (EPSC), the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), the Chemical Industry Association (CIA) and The Institute of Engineering and Technology. So far this year, Curvaceous is in the shortlist of Strategic Manufacturing Awards 2008 in the Green category and recently was announced as a finalist of the BT Flagship for Innovation Award of the British Computer Society.

Dr. Robin Brooks, the Managing Director of Curvaceus Software Ltd., is looking forward to the finalist presentation in front of the judging panel on October 3rd, 2008 in Reading. “We are delighted by this news and  the recognition by the BCS of our achievements and software innovations”

The BCS IT Industry Awards, supported by Intellect and NCC, are the leading hallmark of success amongst practitioners today.  The cross industry awards form a central element to the BCS’ professionalism in IT initiative and recognise, promote and acclaim excellence, professionalism, innovation and the outstanding achievements to which individuals and groups contribute.

David Clarke, BCS chief executive says: “In the current economic situation it is rewarding to see that IT is continuing to lead through innovation and deliver real business benefits.  These projects reflect the fact that technology is an integral and expected part of everyday life and is at the heart of literally every business – even farming.”
