GPC's novel process technology tools are providing new methodology for Alarm Management, Six Sigma, process efficiency improvement and operational variability reduction.

Being able to see and work with as many as 1,000 process and result variables at once adds amazingly to the insight into how the process really works.

Novel algorithms quickly find the best values for Operating Limits and tell you what Yield improvements to expect from using them.

Enhancing the Six Sigma methodology with easier-to-use but much more powerful math methods able to work with 1000 variables allows one improvement project to look at the whole of your process flowsheet at once and avoid the multiple projects and consequent sub-optimisation imposed by todays pre-computer-era math methods.

All the problems of Alarm Systems start and end with the values given to the Alarm Limits but there was never a method to calculate them. Now there is and you can find better alarm limits for many variables at once with immediate reduction in false alarm and annunciation rates as well as giving the operator more time to react, all of which contributes to a safer plant. It will save you a lot of time in alarm rationalisation projects too. Multi-Mode alarming is available also and, with no further work, operator alerts are implemented to advise the operator how to stay inside the alarm limits so reducing the Probability of Failure on Demand (PFOD) for an even safer plant and an even quieter control room.
